RTSea Productions, based in Southern California, delivers high definition video and digital still production services with a particular emphasis on nature and underwater subject matter, and is committed to ensuring the best possible end product for your production dollar.

Providing services for broadcast, motion picture, and corporate clients, RTSea Productions also focuses on the importance of developing effective media communications for scientific research organizations and NGOs. With so many environmental and conservation issues facing the world today, it is critical that research data be brought to public attention in a meaningful way.

With production services that can provide all the needed staffing and logistics for unique projects, and a media library containing video and still images from qualified professionals that range from sharks to musk ox, Arctic tundra to coral reefs, sweeping land vistas to spiders and reptiles; RTSea Productions is dedicated to capturing nature and underwater images that will impress and move viewers to preserve and protect our precious natural resources - above and below the waves.

Staff

RichardRichard Theiss: Cinematographer/Writer/Director
Richard Theiss spent over 12 years in the television commercial and motion picture field providing video services for a diverse roster of major clients including Paramount, Castle Rock, and Orion Pictures. He worked on national commercials ranging from McDonald's, Pepsi, and Coors to Disney Studios, Nissan, and Wesson Oil.

Mr. Theiss has delivered footage for National Geographic's Wild Chronicles on global warming, PBS, Discovery Communications, Animal Planet, the History Channel's Modern Marvels, and more. His work has been published by HD VideoPro, Lifestyle International, and Discover Diving magazines; PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), Divers Alert Network, Playboy.com, and The Seattle Aquarium. He has also filmed projects for the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, CA, in addition to nationally recognized research organizations, aquariums, and zoos. A professional diver for over 25 years, Mr. Theiss has worked as a safety diver for television and motion pictures including Orion Pictures Navy SEALs. He is a certified scuba instructor, lecturer, consultant on ecotourism for Sharkdivers.com, contributes to the RTSea nature blog, and is a national member of the prestigious Explorers Club.

 

BuddBudd Riker: Photographer/Writer

Budd Riker has over 30 years experience as a photographer and writer. His photos and photo stories have been published in national and international publications including Nature, Skin Diver Magazine, The Los Angeles Times Magazine, The Undersea Journal, Islands, and more. While Mr. Riker's primary focus is underwater photography, he is equally adept at capturing the surrounding beauty of a mountain scene, a tranquil desert environment, and everything in between. He has been a contributing writer and photographer for several books including Digital Underwater Photography (PADI, 2006), The Ocean Planet (Current Publishing, 2005), The Encyclopedia or Recreational Diving (PADI, 1999), and The Business of Diving (PADI 1999). Budd has traveled extensively in the pursuit of unique stories and images, always seeking to capture the fascinating stories our natural world is so rich with.
